Emirates has said that it will use its A380 kitted with the Expo 2020 Dubai special livery to perform two low level flypasts across parts of Dubai on Wednesday, October 13, and Thursday, October 14.

The aircraft will fly over Sheikh Zayed Road, the Expo 2020 Dubai site and its surrounding area on Wednesday morning and Thursday, allowing the public making their morning commute to spot the aircraft.

The airline said that the flypast will be conducted at approximately between the 5am-8am across. The flypasts being conducted over the next two days will be for a special project to be revealed soon by the airline.

Emirates encourages the public to take photos and videos of the flypast of the special A380 livery.

However, it has said that people must not to put the flypast at risk by using drones and must comply with all GCAA guidelines pertaining to ‘no fly zones’ for unmanned aircraft/drones.

In September, Emirates introduced the new Expo 2020 Dubai livery on its A380 aircraft. The new livery will appear on three A380 aircraft to spread the message of the Expo.

The new bright blue aircraft livery features large-scale graphics in green, orange, pink, purple and red, which run across the fuselage and all the way up to the tail and fin interlaced with the distinct ring-shaped Expo 2020 Dubai logo.

Special ‘Dubai Expo’ and ‘Be Part of the Magic’ messages run across both sides of the A380 fuselage. The engine cowls also carry the Expo 2020 Dubai messages and dates of the event.

Also, there is an image of Nicole Smith-Ludvik on both sides of the aircraft, holding a message board that says: ‘See you there’ and ‘Dubai Expo Oct-Mar 2022’.

As part of the new livery, the Emirates red belly branding, which can be only seen when the aircraft is flying overhead, has been replaced by the Opportunity Pavilion-themed orange Dubai Expo branding.
