Eight people were killed and one person was injured in Kuwait on Monday after a car rammed into a crowd of people who were gathered around the site of another minor accident.
According to the Kuwaiti Fire Service Directorate (KFSD), people gathered to help after three cars collided in Kabad, about 35 kilometres from Kuwait City.
However, a vehicle which was speeding then hit the crowd, resulting in the deaths and injuries, KFSD said.
Seven Kuwaitis and one Gulf national from a neighbouring country were among those killed, according to local media reports.
Fire brigades and ambulances rushed to the site to rescue the victims and transport them to hospitals.
An investigation into the incident is currently underway.
