Home UAE Dubai Eid al Fitr 2024: Free parking dates announced for Dubai and Sharjah The RTA notification said that free parking hours will be in effect from Ramadan 29 until Shawwal 3 by Gulf Business April 5, 2024 Image credit: WAM The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai announced that all public parking, excluding multi-level parking terminals, will be free of charge for the upcoming Eid al Fitr holidays, reported a local daily. Free parking dates The notification said that free parking hours will be in effect from Ramadan 29 until Shawwal 3. According to authorities, parking tariffs will resume on Shawwal 4, as confirmed on Friday. With Ramadan 29 corresponding to Monday, April 8, those owning vehicles as well as motorists can enjoy extended days of complimentary parking starting from Sunday, April 7, which is typically a regular no-pay parking day. The number of days that the free parking policy will be applicable for, hinges on the sighting of the crescent moon. If spotted on Monday, marking the last day of Ramadan, Eid Al Fitr will commence on Tuesday, April 9, extending the free parking period until Shawwal 3, on April 11. In the event that the crescent moon is not sighted, signaling Ramadan’s extension to 30 days, Eid Al Fitr will fall on April 10, and Shawwal 3 will be observed on April 12, providing six days of free parking until tariffs resume on Saturday, April 13.
