The announcement was made by the UAE’s Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation Saqr Ghobash. Eid Al Fitr marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan, when Muslims fast from sunrise to sunset. The first day of Eid this year is expected to fall on Wednesday, July 6, according to an astronomer. Earlier this week, it was announced that public sector employees will be off from Sunday, July 3 to Saturday, July 9 for Eid. They will resume work from Sunday, July 10.
