Home UAE Dubai Dubai’s new Latifa City: 3,500 plots, 2,300 homes for UAE citizens The Dubai housing plots earmarked for UAE citizens span an area of 40 million square feet, including 2,700 plots in Latifa City by Gulf Business January 15, 2024 Up to 3,500 plots of land and 2,300 ready-to-move-in houses are set to be distributed to citizens of the UAE as part of a new Dhs5.5bn Latifa City project. This comes after Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, approved a series of projects for the year 2024 as part of the Dubai Social Agenda 33. Our ultimate objective is to enhance the quality of citizens’ lives for a brighter future,” said Sheikh Mohammed in a statement. The housing plots earmarked for UAE citizens span an area of 40 million square feet. These include 2,700 plots in Latifa City and 800 plots in Al Yalayis 5 area. Eligible citizens from Dubai wil be handed over ownership of the plots in February. Meanwhile, the 2,300 new houses for citizens are located across areas in Al Khawaneej 2, Al Aweer, Wadi Al Amardi, and Hatta. Latifa City, the newly designated area for citizens’ housing, pays tribute to the memory of Sheikh Mohammed’s mother, Sheikha Latifa bint Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Sheikh Mohammed dedicated a significant portion of his book ‘My Story’ on her humanitarian contributions and influential role in Dubai. Sheikh Mohammed earlier this month launched the Dhs208bn Dubai Social Agenda programme, with one of its key objectives being to achieve a doubling of the number of Emirati families in the emirate within a decade.
