Dubai carrier Emirates has warned passengers of high traffic this weekend as spring break begins.

The airline said more than 89,000 passengers would pass through Dubai International’s Terminal 3 from Thursday, March 23, with 34,500 alone expected on Friday, March 24.

Passengers were told to arrive at least three hours prior to departure due to the busier period and were warned to allow extra time due to road and construction work taking place around the airport.

It is possible to check-in at the airport from six hours before departure and no later than 60 minutes ahead of the scheduled flight time, with bag drop off no later than 90 minutes before.

Online check-in is also available from 48 hours before departure and car park check-in facilities allow customers to drop off luggage from 24 to six hours prior to departure.

The carrier warned that carry-on baggage would be weighted at regular intervals with limits of 7kg and 14kg for economy and business and first class respectively.

Around 20 economy check-in counters have been designed for families in Area 2 of the terminal.
