Home Transport Aviation Dubai’s Emirates to suspend all Nigeria flights from December 13 The last flights to operate on December 12 include EK 783/784 to/from Lagos and EK 785/786 to/from Abuja by Aarti Nagraj December 11, 2021 Dubai airline Emirates has announced that all its Nigeria flights will be suspended from December 13 due to restrictions imposed by Nigerian authorities. “With the recently imposed directive limiting Emirates to operate one flight per week to Nigeria via Abuja, Emirates will be suspending its flights between Nigeria and Dubai from December 13, 2021, until the UAE and Nigerian authorities work on a solution to the ongoing issue,” the Dubai airline said on its website. The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority had earlier granted the airline 21 weekly passenger flight frequencies as part of its winter schedule. The last flights to operate will now be on December 12, including EK 783/784 to/from Lagos and EK 785/786 to/from Abuja. Emirates passengers holding tickets with the final destinations as Lagos and Abuja will not be accepted at the point of origin, the statement added. Those with tickets can hold on to their Emirates tickets and when flights resume, get in touch with their travel agent or booking office to make new travel plans. “Emirates is committed to its operations in Nigeria, and we stand ready to reinstate services once restrictions are lifted by the Nigerian authorities, ensuring travellers have more choice and access to trade and tourism opportunities in Dubai, and beyond to our network of over 120 destinations,” the airline added. The airline had only resumed flights to Nigeria on December 5.
