DSS which offers mega sales and includes special entertainment activities planned over the course of the event, is organised by Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE). This year’s DSS will commence with a special opening day fireworks, projections and fountain shows at Burj Khalifa, The Palm Fountain at The Pointe and the Imagine show at Dubai Festival City Mall on July 1. Among the several promotions, it will include the DSS Share Millionaire, Daily Surprises, raffle draws, and also new additions to this year’s line-up including food events such as Summer Restaurant Week, the Big Eid Eat and Dine & Win, as well as Movie Magic and the Summer Art Project. “There is always great excitement felt right across the city as residents and visitors gear up for this major celebration of shopping and fun. With 10 weeks of unmissable attractions, promotions, raffles, family events and much more, this edition of DSS is shaping up to be one of the best yet,” said Ahmed Al Khaja, CEO of organisers Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment, according to the Dubai Media office. Officials have confirmed that all the necessary health and safety procedures will be observed at the DSS participating venues, including social distancing and the wearing of masks at all times. In the 2020 edition of DSS, over 900 brands and more than 3,000 stores in 31 malls across Dubai participated in over 140 shopping promotions. There were more than 17,000 customers who won prizes worth a combined value of Dhs6.2m, including 10 luxury cars given away as part of Spend & Win promotions. Also last year, 80 regional and global celebrities as well as influencers promoted the event.
