This initiative, signed at the World Governments Summit 2024, with ENOC, BESIX Middle East, and Marubeni Middle East and Africa Power, paves the way for cleaner skies and a more sustainable future for the aviation industry. The project utilises advanced technology to treat mixed solid municipal waste, organic waste, and even green hydrogen from sewage treatment, converting them into the sustainable fuel. This step aligns with the UAE’s commitment to environmental protection and carbon reduction, specifically targeting the ‘zero waste’ objective and emission cuts in the aviation sector. The project is set for implementation in July 2025. Dubai Municipality signs MoU with global firms at WGS 2024 to produce SAF.
