Dubai Ride 2023 drew more than 35,000 cyclists who collectively cycled over 546,000 kilometres in the largest community cycling event in the region.

Sheikh Zayed Road was closed in the early hours on Sunday, November 12, transforming into a gigantic cycling track for Dubai Ride, the annual Dubai Fitness Challenge cycling event.

Dubai Ride presented by DP World is part of the Dubai Fitness Challenge, an initiative launched in 2017 by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai.

Last year’s edition saw 34,897 cyclists come together as one community as part of the annual city-wide challenge to commit to 30 minutes of daily exercise for 30 consecutive days.

Dubai Ride: two routes

Dubai Ride took place from 6.15am until 8.15am and was open only for cyclists taking part in the event.

The event featured two routes: the longer route kicked off from Dubai World Trade Centre all the way to Safa Park and back again.

The shorter 4km route followed Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard and going past Dubai Mall, Dubai Opera and the Burj Khalifa.
