This strategy is dedicated to ensuring the comprehensive wellbeing of nationals, residents, and visitors alike, positioning Dubai as a global leader in quality of life, the Crown Prince said in his social media post. Sheikh Hamdan emphasised that the wellbeing of individuals remains paramount in Dubai’s sustainable development plans. The strategy, encompassing over 200 projects, initiatives, and plans, is set to transform Dubai’s urban landscape across ten key pillars, fostering a vibrant, healthy, and inclusive society. Notably, it aims to establish Dubai as one of the world’s premier destinations for living, working, and visiting. The strategy’s implementation will be overseen by a newly established office dedicated to enhancing quality of life in Dubai, in collaboration with 19 government entities and numerous private organisations. These include the development of wellbeing districts, the introduction of the ’20-minute city’ concept, the creation of a new generation of parks, and the enhancement of mobility options, among others. Key highlights of the strategy include the redesign of model neighborhoods in Al Mizhar 1, Al Khawaneej 2, and Al Barsha 2, with a focus on upgrading infrastructure, promoting healthy living environments, and improving connectivity between community hubs. The comprehensive redevelopment plans encompass the construction of pedestrian and cycling tracks, the planting of trees and plants, and the creation of family-friendly recreational spaces. The Dubai Quality of Life Strategy, spanning three phases from 2024 to 2033, focuses on ten key pillars crucial to wellbeing, addressing various aspects such as culture and entertainment, mobility, education, health, and safety and security. Furthermore, the strategy prioritises the development of next-generation parks across Dubai, featuring innovative design elements tailored to the diverse needs of the community. Over 30 parks with these new designs are slated for development within the next three years. Sheikh Hamdan directed all government departments to expedite the implementation of projects linked to the Dubai Quality of Life Strategy 2033, underscoring the urgent need to enhance the overall wellbeing of Dubai’s residents. With a commitment to inclusivity, the strategy targets seven key demographic categories, ensuring that all community segments benefit from its initiatives. Private sector collaboration is integral to the strategy’s success, with the involvement of businesses expected to accelerate the achievement of ambitious goals outlined in Dubai’s economic agenda.
