Dubai Police warn of scammers posing as celebrities on social media

Dubai Police has issued a warning to residents to be cautious about scammers pretending to be celebrities on social media.
In a tweet on Saturday, Dubai Police warned that scammers can pose as celebrities on social media sites as a way to steal money from victims, using tactics such as claiming they are raising money for a charity or other cause.
Report fake social media accounts to #DubaiPolice by calling 901 or simply emailing ecrimes@dubaipolice.gov.ae

They said fake social media accounts can be reported to police by calling 901 or emailing ecrimes@dubaipolice.gov.ae.
Police have also warned about scammers offering fake prizes to victims. They said a person should never share their debit/credit card number and PIN if they have really won a prize.
