Trying to find a spot near Dubai’s famous Burj Khalifa tower on New Year’s Eve could prove to be a pricey excursion for many revellers.

With the world’s tallest building being one of the most sought after places on the planet to ring in the New Year, you can expect to pay anywhere from Dhs2,300 to Dhs10,000 per person at its nearby Dubai Mall promenade restaurants.

Even normally affordable fast-food joints and diners are charging top dollar.

One of these is Nando’s on Dubai Mall’s promenade, which is reportedly charging Dhs5,000 per person this year for an all-you-can-eat dinner, according to the Daily Mail newspaper.

At least Nando’s hasn’t applied inflation to its menu as it’s charging the same price for NYE as it did last year, according to another report from the dying days of 2022 which evokes a sense of deja-vu. For the rest of the year, a quarter chicken with a regular sides of your choice will set you back around Dhs38 at most Nando’s in Dubai.

What Nando’s is charging, though, is nothing in comparison to what you’ll pay at Trove — which describes itself as the “best shisha lounge” in Dubai. A New Year’s Eve dinner here will set you back Dhs10,000 per person.

If you’re looking for something that’s a little more ‘on the low-end’ near the Burj Khalifa, then maybe Starbucks is a solid option. Unlimited food and drinks at the store’s outlet on the promenade will just cost you a cool Dhs2,300.

Again, for the rest of the year, a tall iced Spanish latter there will cost you about Dhs23.
