Home UAE Dubai Dubai: No more paid parking exemption on Fridays The latest directive means that the parking fee exemptions previously available on Fridays will now be available on Sundays by Varun Godinho March 28, 2022 Parking fees will be collected from 8am to 10pm daily across Dubai, except on Sundays and public holidays, a new resolution adopted by the Dubai Government has confirmed. Multi-storey parking facilities will charge fees round the clock on all seven days of the week. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai has issued Executive Council Resolution No. (18) of 2022, amending certain clauses of Executive Council Resolution No. (5) of 2016 pertaining to regulations governing public parking in Dubai. Furthermore, vehicles can be parked in public parking areas for a maximum of four consecutive hours in roadside parking slots; 24 hours in parking lots; and 30 days in multi-storey parking facilities. A statement on the Crown Prince’s website added that resolution is effective from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette. Starting January 3, 2022, a majority of private and public entities in Dubai shifted to the new working week of Monday-Friday from Sunday-Thursday as was the norm previously. At the time of the switch, the RTA said that public parking in Dubai would remain free only on Fridays (as was the case with the old working week structure) and public holidays.
