Dubai municipality denies rumours of bacon fat in chocolate

Rumours on social media claimed that the Break Supa chocolate bar had pork grease

Gulf Business

Dubai Municipality has denied rumours of the existence of bacon grease in a popular chocolate bar.

The rumours circulated on social media sites claimed that the Break Supa chocolate bar, manufactured by Tiffany in the UAE, contained bacon fat.

However, officials clarified that the chocolate “can’t contain bacon grease because the UAE does not produce pork products at all”.

“The food additive E471 in Break Supa chocolate is made from vegetable oil and authorised for use according to food additive regulations in UAE,” the statement from municipality added.
