Dubai Municipality awards major service contract to Imdaad

Imdaad will provide waste management, recycling and infrastructure cleaning services across Dubai, as part of the three-year contract

Imdaad, the Dubai-based group that provides integrated, sustainable facilities management (FM) services, has signed a new contract with Dubai Municipality. This is Imdaad’s third agreement with the government entity.

Under the terms of the three-year contract, which came into effect on March 1, Imdaad has deployed a workforce to provide waste management, recycling and infrastructure cleaning services to Dubai’s Al Mizhar 1, Al Mizhar 2, Muhaisnah 1 and Nad Al Hamar districts. This involves the deployment of 11,712 bins of various capacities.

Commenting on the agreement, Jamal Lootah, Group CEO of Imdaad, said: “The new major contract award cements Imdaad’s standing as an FM partner of choice for government organisations and businesses in the UAE.”

Imdaad’s first major Dubai Municipality agreement, as part of the My City My Environment Phase – 1 project, saw the company provide integrated waste management services to more than 10,000 people along with recycling services that involved the collections of 150 metric cubes of recyclables per month, from 2012 to 2017.

As part of its second ongoing contract with Dubai Municipality, Imdaad offers cleaning services across 14 of Dubai’s largest industrial areas.

According to a WAM report, in January, Imdaad secured a contract to provide Hard FM and Data Loss Prevention management services to ‘The View at The Palm’, an observation deck that showcases a 360-degree view of Palm Jumeirah and Dubai’s skyline. According to the contract signed with the project owner Nakheel, Imdaad will deliver civil, MEP and data protection services for a year.

In September last year, the company signed three contracts in a single month with UAE-based clients in the retail, sports, and real estate sectors. The contracts’ combined value was Dhs90m, reflecting the company’s strong recovery during the pandemic.
