Home UAE Dubai Love took a flight: DXB hosts world’s first rooftop proposal Anastasiia and Dmitry scaled the roof of Concourse B at DXB to profess their love against the unparalleled views of the Dubai skyline by Gulf Business February 14, 2024 Russian couple Anastasiia Girfanova and Dmitry Maslennikov won the opportunity to stage the memorable proposal on the rooftop of Dubai International Airport (DXB) in what is the world’s first-ever airport rooftop proposal. The pair’s journey began on a serendipitous New Year’s Eve with Anastasiia visiting Dubai as a tourist, where she met the man of her dreams, and intentionally missed her flight back to Russia. Anastasiia and Dmitry, who were chosen from hundreds of applicants, scaled the roof of Concourse B at DXB, the busiest international airport in the world, to profess their love against the unparalleled views of the Dubai skyline and a front-row seat to the runway action. We’re thrilled to have been a part of their story (and that Anastasiia said yes!),” said Michelle Lee, vice president of Brand and Communications at Dubai Airports. From the exclusive setting to the surprise proposal, DXB spared no effort in ensuring Dmitry and Anastasiia’s love story took flight.
