Home Expo 2020 Dubai Expo’s sustainability pavilion to be closed during mourning period for Sheikh Hamdan The dates for re-opening of the pavilion will be confirmed in due course by Gulf Business March 24, 2021 Expo 2020 Dubai has announced that the preview of Terra – The Sustainability Pavilion will close with immediate effect to observe the mounring period for Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and UAE Minister of Finance. Sheikh Hamdan passed away on Wednesday, March 24. He was 75. The dates for re-opening of the pavilion will be confirmed in due course, a statement said. Those who have already purchased tickets will be able to use them on an alternative day, or can request a refund, the statement added. The Dubai Ruler’s Court has announced a 10-day mourning period in the emirate. Flags will be flown at half-mast during the mourning period. Meanwhile, all government departments and entities across Dubai will suspend their operations for three days, beginning Thursday, March 25.
