Inspectors from Dubai Customs dealt with 504 cases during the same period, including both customs and criminal cases, according to Dubai Media Office. Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, director general of Dubai Customs, CEO of Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation, said that Dubai Customs is keeping up with the outstanding performance of the tourism sector in Dubai by providing smart systems and skilled officers to facilitate travellers. Dubai Customs reports strong growth He noted that Dubai International Airport has seen a significant increase in passenger traffic during H1 2023 (41.6 million passengers), with expectations to reach 85 million passengers by the end of the year. In H1 2023, Dubai Customs cleared 14 million customs transactions, a 10 per cent surge from the 12.7 million transactions reported in the same period last year. Dubai Customs revealed that business registration service transactions went up 7 per cent, recording 143,000 service requests. According to the Dubai Media Office, customs declarations stood at 12.3 million transactions, accounting for 88 per cent of the total number of customs transactions.
