Home Brand View Special Mercedes-AMG G 63 UAE Golden Jubilee Edition unveiled in Dubai Numbered and limited to 50 units, it is the first G-Class ever offered in dual colours by Gulf Business July 4, 2021 The Mercedes-AMG G 63 is among the most capable off-roaders in the world. While its competitor-SUVs are content over details like top speed and horsepower (numbers against which the G 63 still comes out on top), with the G-Class the main talking points are climbing ability, fording depth and side slope angle (70 degrees, if you dare). The G-Class was born in the Seventies, the same decade as UAE itself. This year, the UAE celebrates its 50th anniversary. To mark the UAE’s milestone moment, Mercedes-Benz collaborated with Gargash – the authorised General Distributor of Mercedes-Benz in Dubai, Sharjah and the Northern Emirates – to recently launch a special-edition G 63 UAE Golden Jubilee Edition. It is the first G-Class ever offered in dual colours The SUV is limited to only 50 units and is already available across the country. The special-edition G 63, marks several firsts for Mercedes. For the first time in the history of Mercedes-Benz, the G 63 will be available in dual colours. From the 50 special-edition vehicles, 25 units are available in white/iridium silver, and 25 in magnetite black/graphite grey combinations. Irrespective of the choice of colour, all 50 units will have an exclusive serial number, to represent every year of the UAE’s union. It features special carbon fibre spare wheel covers dedicated to celebrating the UAE’s 50 anniversary The body of the vehicle including the grille and the centre console on the inside will have Golden Jubilee badges to denote that these vehicles are part of the special edition. Unlike any other G 63 on the market, these limited-edition models also feature grey brake callipers and a specially designed grab-handle. A unique Mirror Projector has also been designed specifically for these models, paying tribute to the UAE. Furthermore, they feature special carbon fibre spare wheel covers dedicated to celebrating the UAE’s 50 anniversary. It also has a Low Range off-road gear reduction, as well as a custom tyre inflation system allowing drivers to adjust the pressure of their wheels, perfect for quickly switching between a morning of sand surfing and an afternoon spent cruising down the 14-lane Sheikh Zayed Road. While this is a proper off-roader, occupants are ensconced in luxury with plenty of leather, wood and carbon fibre trims found across the hand-finished interiors. The body of the vehicle including the grille and the centre console on the inside will have UAE Golden Jubilee badges “We are glad to be able to pay tribute to the UAE and the brand with this limited-edition vehicle. The Mercedes-AMG G 63 UAE Golden Jubilee is a testament to both – the evolution of our country as well as to the legendary G-Wagon,” said Shehab M. Gargash, managing director and group CEO of Gargash Group. To underscore the significance of the collaboration, Gargash has set up a dedicated phone line only to entertain enquiries about the Golden Jubilee Edition, with a G-Class expert who will be able to communicate all the information regarding this model. In January this year, Gargash announced that Mercedes-Benz had launched its e-commerce platform for its passenger cars in the UAE – the first of its kind for the Middle East. All 50 units will have an exclusive serial number, to represent every year of the UAE’s union Gargash has also confirmed that the world’s first AMG Store is set to open in City Walk, Dubai this year. The new AMG Store will be launched as a hybrid retail concept, combining three different experiences being offered inside the same facility including a showroom, boutique and café.
