But with countries reopening their borders and business gradually returning to normal, the appetite for air travel has soared. In the backdrop of the growing focus on the sector, the Dubai Airshow – set to be held from November 14-18 at Dubai World Central, will showcase how the aviation sector can overcome the challenges and achieve full recovery. Featuring over 20 country pavilions, it will also showcase over 160 aircraft displays and the latest products in the market. The event – the only global airshow to take place since 2019 – will also offer enhanced networking opportunities and host several free-to-attend conferences featuring over 150 industry experts. Three stages will host sessions addressing key sectors including global air traffic, space, aviation sustainability, advanced aerial mobility and new technologies. According to organisers, the show aims to provide “the ideal event for strategic development and the creation of new partnerships”. Hub Stage As part of Cargo Connect and Global Air Traffic Management, discussions will focus on challenges within air traffic management and the technological disruptions in the cargo industry. This ticket-only conference will share exclusive insights into the region’s aviation industry. Aerospace 2050 Forum This stage will encompass elements of future transportation, research and development, government policies, and economic growth initiatives in the industry. It will highlight project updates on space ventures and unmanned aerial vehicles, as well as technological and design innovations that are creating a more sustainable aviation industry. Tech Xplore Another new stage set to be introduced this year is Tech Xplore, which will highlight how technology is helping reboot aviation and changing the entire flying experience. Aviation tech experts will discuss the role of 5G, AI, machine learning, cyber security and automation in the development of the industry. Startup focus For the first time, the Dubai Airshow will also have a dedicated aerospace startup hub – VISTA to showcase the latest innovations and talents driving the future of the industry. The co-located event will be a platform for innovators and creators to connect with venture capitalists who are looking for disruptive new entrants. The event will be attended by national leaders, CEOs, investors, developers, technology disruptors, operators and other key experts. Entrepreneurs can get involved in pitch competitions where they will be able to present their technologies to industry leaders and investors with the chance of winning some great prizes, participate in mentorship clinics and workshops and network with the industry’s biggest names. It will offer a complete ecosystem for budding startups within the industry.
