Dubai airport passenger traffic crosses 69 million between Jan-Oct

The airport posted a 2.7 per cent growth on traffic in October

Passenger traffic at Dubai International Airport, the world’s busiest for international travel, increased 2.7 per cent from a year earlier to 6.4 million people in October, the airport’s operator said in a statement on Thursday.

In the first 10 months of this year, traffic grew 6.8 per cent to 69.36 million people, with the operator saying the airport was on track to reaching its target of 83 million passengers in 2016.

The airport handled 236,159 tonnes of cargo in October, an increase of 9.5 percent compared to a year earlier.

Dubai International only handles some of the emirate’s air freight with Dubai’s second airport, Al Maktoum International, also handling cargo operations.
