Home UAE Dubai DMCC unveils new hub to power ESG impact The new ecosystem will pioneer environmental, social, and governance (ESG) best practices among DMCC’s member base of over 24,000 companies by Gulf Business March 7, 2024 Image: Dubai Media Office DMCC has launched the DMCC Sustainability Hub, a new initiative designed to promote environmental, social and governance (ESG) best practices among its 24,000 member companies. The hub will focus on fostering a network of sustainability leaders within the DMCC community. The hub aims to become a regional hub for knowledge and innovation in ESG, similar to DMCC‘s other successful industry-specific ecosystems. Ahmed Bin Sulayem, executive chairman and CEO of DMCC, said: “DMCC has long seen the value in ESG, having signed the UN Global Compact in 2017, and led global insights last year in areas such as the energy transition, the future of transport and clean mobility in the sidelines to COP28. Establishing the Sustainability Hub is the next logical step in this journey as we provide the world’s business community with a platform to showcase their ESG credentials, share knowledge and expertise, and ultimately drive positive and meaningful change.” The hub will be run in partnership with C3 (Companies Creating Change), a UAE-based social enterprise empowering impact-driven entrepreneurs across the globe. Several notable companies, including General Mills, Monjasa, Shell & Vivo Lubricants, Motif Interiors, and Evolvin’ Women, have joined the hub as founding members. DMCC Sustainability Hub: Benefits for members The hub will offer various benefits to members, including networking and mentorship opportunities to help members connect and learn from other sustainability leaders. The hub will provide connections to ESG-focused venture capital companies and accelerator programmes. It will include a loyalty programme where members can earn points redeemable for various business services, such as license renewals and visa applications. Members can also attend trainings and events conducted by C3, and have access to local and regional sustainability experts through the social enterprise. Additionally, members gain access to the C3 Impact Hub, which is an open resource platform for inspiration and collaboration on purpose-driven initiatives. Membership to the Hub is free for existing DMCC members who pass an evaluation process.
