UAE: Avail a 50% discount on traffic fines in these 4 emirates

In initiatives announced to mark Eid Al Etihad 53, motorists in several emirates are now eligible for a 50 per cent discount on traffic fines.

The initiative, which started in early December, is offering drivers in four emirates a chance to reduce their accumulated fines and clear any traffic violations.

With the added benefit of waived vehicle impoundments and the cancellation of traffic black points, this offer is designed to encourage compliance while easing the burden on drivers.

The following four emirates are offering discounts

The discount announced by Fujairah Police commenced on December 2 will continue for 53 days, running until January 23, 2025. This offer applies to traffic fines issued before December 1, 2024.

In addition to the fine reduction, the initiative also includes the cancellation of vehicle impoundments and traffic black points for qualifying drivers. However, it’s important to note that the discount does not extend to serious traffic violations.

The Ras Al Khaimah Police also introduced a similar initiative, effective from December 1 through December 31. Like Fujairah, the Ras Al Khaimah Police clarified that the discount would not apply to serious offences but would cover all other traffic fines incurred before December 1.

In Umm Al Quwain, the police department announced that the discount would last from December 1 until January 5, 2025.

The offer applies to traffic violations committed prior to December 1, and, as with the other emirates, excludes serious offences.

In addition to the fine reduction, Umm Al Quwain residents will also benefit from the cancellation of vehicle impoundments and traffic black points.

The Umm Al Quwain Police emphasised the initiative’s role in improving road safety and enhancing public satisfaction.

Ajman announces discounts on traffic fines in November

Ajman Police also launched a similar offer earlier this year, applicable from November 4 to December 15, offering a 50 per cent discount on fines for violations committed before October 31.

Authorities have encouraged drivers to take advantage of these discounts and clear any pending fines during the promotion period.
