This would direct them to a payment gateway where they can select one of three payment methods – Visa, MasterCard or Apple Pay – to complete the transaction. Launched in in collaboration with the operator’s service partner Mawgif, the new mobile payment option is now available across all DXB’s car parks. However, existing parking payment machines will also continue to be available as an alternate option for car park users. Users will have a 10-minute window after completing the transaction to exit the gate barrier, Dubai Airports said in a statement on Thursday. Customers need not register online or download any app to use the option. “We are delighted to launch ‘Scan, Pay and Go’, which is the outcome of Dubai Airports’ ongoing approach of working closely with all of our partners to upgrade every customer touchpoint at DXB,” said Eugene Barry, Executive Vice President of Commercial at Dubai Airports. DXB recorded 27,884,888 million passengers in the first half of the year, just 1.2 million shy of the airport’s total annual traffic last year.
