Covid-19 update: UAE reports 3,102 cases; tests cross 29 million mark

The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) in the UAE has confirmed that 3,102 new Covid-19 cases were reported on February 24.

The new cases were confirmed as a result of 179,229 additional tests conducted across the country to screen for the contagion.

The health ministry also confirmed 3,814 recoveries and 19 deaths.

The nationwide Covid-19 case count has risen to 378,637, which includes 370,381 recoveries and 1,164 fatalities.

More so, health authorities across the country have already vaccinated over 3.48 million people against Covid-19, which accounts for 44.89 per cent of the target segment of the population.

During a media briefing held on February 23, Dr. Farida Al Hosani, spokesperson for the UAE health sector, confirmed that 5,668,264 doses have been administered, at 57.31 doses per 100 persons. Meanwhile, the number of tests conducted crossed the 29 million mark.
