Home Covid-19 Covid-19 update: UAE reports 1,538 cases; highest daily rise since the outbreak The death toll in the UAE has risen to 459 by Zainab Mansoor October 17, 2020 The UAE’s Ministry of Health and Prevention reported 1,538 additional cases of the novel coronavirus infection on October 17, the highest daily increase since the virus was first spotted across the country. The second highest daily spike, equalling 1,431, was recorded on October 14. The new cases were detected as a result of 130,567 tests conducted to screen for the virus. The health ministry also confirmed 1,411 recoveries and four additional fatalities.
