Covid-19: UAE reports 64 new cases, 83 recoveries

The nationwide case count has now risen to 742,173

The UAE’s Ministry of Health and Prevention reported 64 new Covid-19 cases on December 2.

The new infections were reported, after 248,038 tests were conducted to screen for the virus.

The health ministry also announced 83 recoveries in the past 24 hours, raising the total recovery count to 737,107.

The Ministry added that no Covid-19 related death has been recorded in the past 24 hours, and the death toll remained unchanged at 2,148.

Meanwhile, the nationwide case count has now risen to 742,173.

Furthermore, the UAE’s Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) detected on Wednesday the first case of the Omicron variant in the country, state news agency WAM reported.

The new variant was identified in an African woman coming from an African country via an Arab nation.
