Home Covid-19 Covid-19: Abu Dhabi opens walk-in vaccination centres exclusively for students and educational staff The centres will be open from August 17 – October 31 at the Mina Zayed Vaccination Center and the Al Ain Convention Center by Varun Godinho August 17, 2021 Authorities in Abu Dhabi have opened two dedicated Covid-19 vaccination centres exclusively for students and staff of educational institutions where the jabs are available on a walk-in basis. The centres will be open for them from August 17 – October 31 at the Mina Zayed Vaccination Center and the Al Ain Convention Center daily from 8am-8pm. Those eligible will be offered a choice of either Pfizer-BioNTech and Sinopharm vaccines at these centres, including first, second and booster doses wherever applicable. Students below the age of 18 must be accompanied by one guardian only. For new arrivals to the emirate, they must carry their passport, entry permit, Alhosn app and proof of employment. The initiative is spearheaded by the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK), the Department of Health, Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre and SEHA. Starting August 20, students aged 16 and above as well as staff must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 to be allowed entry to schools in Abu Dhabi. Students and school staff with vaccination exemptions can enter school premises provided the exemption is verified on the Alhosn app or through an official letter from a Department of Health-Abu Dhabi authorised vaccination provider such as SEHA or Mubadala Health.
