King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa in a meeting with US Secretary of State Michael Pompeo stressed the need to redouble efforts to end the conflict and establish a Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, state-run Bahrain News Agency reported. The United Arab Emirates reached an agreement with Israel this month to begin normalising relations, joining Egypt and Jordan as the only Arab countries to do so. Bahrain’s cabinet last week praised the pact as “historic.” Pompeo was in Israel and Sudan this week as part of an outreach.
