Dubai five-star resort Atlantis, The Palm confirmed that it will offer free Covid-19 PCR tests on its premises itself to guests arriving by way of international bookings until December 18, 2020.

However, these guests need to book a minimum stay of five nights in order to avail of the free testing service.

Atlantis has partnered with Al Zahra Hospital Dubai to conduct these tests within the resort itself, the results of which will be available within 24 hours of the screening.

“We are continuously evolving to meet the needs of our customers during this challenging time. Using our on-site medical centre, the new PCR tests will help to reduce any travel inconveniences and encourage more international guests to visit Dubai’s premier entertainment destination,” said Timothy Kelly executive vice president and managing director at Atlantis Dubai.

He added: “The latest initiative also aligns itself with Emirates Airlines free medical cover for Covid-19-related expenses, designed to boost people’s confidence to travel during the pandemic.”

In July, Dubai carrier Emirates became the first airline to offer free cover for Covid-19 related medical and quarantine costs for passengers travelling to and from the UAE.

Emirates customers can claim medical expenses of up to EUR150,000 and quarantine costs of EUR100 per day for 14 days, should they be diagnosed with Covid-19 during their travel, while away from home.

The cover for Covid-19 related medical expenses and quarantine costs is offered to all customers regardless of class of travel or destination.

The airline said that the cover remains valid for 31 days from the moment customers fly the first sector of their journey, and this initiative from Emirates is valid for customers whose first flight is completed on or before October 31.

In a similar move, on September 1, Dubai-based airline flydubai too confirmed that passengers who book flights between September 1 until November 30, 2020 will be given free global cover for Covid-19.
