Subscribers to pay-TV network OSN in the United Arab Emirates will now be able to listen to all nine radio stations under the Arabian Radio Network on their televisions after the two media groups signed a landmark agreement.

The simulcast distribution agreement means that access to ARN’s brands will be added to each OSN subscriber package free of cost.

The network’s stations include Tag 91.1, Al Khaleejiya 100.9, Al Arabiya 99, Dubai 92, Virgin Radio Dubai 104.4, Dubai Eye 103.8, City 1016, Hit 96.7 and Radio Shoma 93.4.

David Butorac, chief executive officer of OSN, said the agreement is an industry-first in the region and that it provides a wider choice of entertainment for subscribers.

“It marks a compelling integration of content delivered via television, adding value to our subscribers, and enhancing the reach of ARN,” he said.

“This pioneering initiative underlines our commitment to innovate on the entertainment choices that we offer, and to create a one-source window, whereby OSN serves as the definitive go-to platform for all forms of entertainment – television, radio and digital,” he added.

ARN’s programming will now be available via radio, online, digital, smartphone and live satellite television.

The network’s general manager, Mahmoud Al Rasheed, said: “Our partnership with OSN represents a united industry involvement in future innovations. ARN is set to expand rapidly, offering our customers and listeners more choices across additional platforms.”

ARN’s chief operating officer Steve Smith added: “The best sound system in the home is connected to TV and now our radio listeners can enjoy our leading brands on this fantastic platform.

This partnership is another signal that the radio industry is accelerating cross-industry innovation.”
