The Tata Group announced a new brand identity and aircraft livery for Air India on August 10 as part of a complete rebranding for the airline.
The Indian airline’s new logo includes a golden frame, along with brilliant red and purple colours as well as a chakra-inspired pattern.
Air India to feature new look
Fliers will begin to see the new logo starting December 2023, when the airline’s first Airbus A350 enters the fleet in the new livery.
Tata Sons’ chairman N Chandrasekaran unveiled the new logo and called it the airline’s bold vision of its future.
“The new logo that you see here today… the vista signified by that historically used window (the peak of the golden window) signifies limitless possibilities, progress, confidence and all of it,” he added.
Chandrasekaran added that the airline would have the best technology in place over the next 12 months.
“We will have the best of machine learning and the best of artificial intelligence deployed in Air India than in any other airline.”
Earlier this year, Air India’s CEO Campbell Wilson announced that the airline was preparing to introduce a host of new services as part of the rebranding journey.
The rebranding of the airline follows Tata Sons’ complete acquisition of the flier, which was completed in January 2022. Through the company’s fully-owned subsidiary, Talace Private – Tata Sons acquired a 100 per cent stake in the former state-owned airline company.
The group has placed a record 470 narrow and widebody jets order after its acquisition.
