Abu Dhabi’s Etihad announces flash sale, offers 20% discount

Abu Dhabi-based carrier Etihad Airways has launched a flash sale on its website.

The offer includes a fare discount of up to 20 per cent on economy and business flights, exclusive of taxes and surcharges. Passengers can plug the EYFLASH20 promo code to avail the offer and book tickets.

The offer is valid on return and one-way journeys on Etihad-operated flights booked on the carrier’s website. It will be applicable on bookings made between 12am on March 13 until 11.59pm the following day, for travel from June 16, 2023, onwards.

Flights and fare types are subject to availability at the time of booking, according to the carrier’s website.

For journeys commencing in Australia, a fare discount of up to 10 per cent in Economy and Business applies. However, the offer does not apply to journeys commencing in Malaysia, nor on economy sale fares.

The carrier said that the initiative is to celebrate the switch to the Amadeus Altéa Passenger Service System (PSS), which was completed during an overnight switchover on March 8, 2023.

All Etihad Airways flights between Abu Dhabi and its global network of airports are now being managed with the Amadeus Altéa suite of travel technology, which offers a simpler check-in and boarding process.

“Amadeus provides us with the tools we need to continue enhancing our guest experience and improving our operations into the future. It will mean further upgrading the digital experience we offer our customers when booking online through etihad.com or using our mobile app and self-service tools, giving them even greater control and flexibility in managing their journey,” said Antonoaldo Neves, Etihad’s chief executive officer.

“The move to Amadeus has been the largest IT project we have undertaken in the last decade with more than 100 IT processes moved over, and over 6,000 colleagues trained to use the new system.”
