The package was approved under the directive of UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in his capacity as Ruler of Abu Dhabi. The housing benefits package covers a range of provisions including housing loans, ready-built houses, and residential land grants. These initiatives, totalling more than Dhs2.082bn in value, have been instrumental in aiding 1,407 citizens across Abu Dhabi. Additionally, senior citizens, retirees with low incomes, and the families of deceased citizens have been granted exemptions from housing loan payments, amounting to more than Dhs98m, benefitting 95 citizens directly. Mohamed Ali Al Shorafa, chairman of the board of directors of Abu Dhabi Housing Authority, said the distribution of the housing benefits package aims to build familial and social cohesion while advancing the comprehensive development agenda of the emirate. Hamad Hareb Al Muhairi, director general of Abu Dhabi Housing Authority, affirmed the authority’s commitment to continually improving its programmes and services to provide housing for all citizens in Abu Dhabi, in alignment with the directives and vision of the leadership. The initiative aims to enhance overall welfare, stability, and quality of life, thereby contributing to the holistic development of Abu Dhabi. With this latest disbursement, the total value of housing benefits disbursed by Abu Dhabi Housing Authority since its establishment surpasses Dhs149bn. In other news, the Abu Dhabi Projects and Infrastructure Centre announced the approval of 144 projects by the Abu Dhabi Executive Council. With a total budget of approximately Dhs66m, these initiatives will boost development across sectors such as housing, education, tourism and natural resources.
