Abu Dhabi’s Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) has announced two significant updates affecting motorists traveling to or within the emirate in the upcoming days.

Bus traffic prohibited

The ITC has declared a prohibition on bus traffic movement along Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Street, spanning from Sheikh Zayed Bridge to Sheikh Zayed Tunnel, encompassing all types and sizes of buses, including light and heavy vehicles.

This restriction will be enforced in both directions of the road, 24 hours a day.

This resolution will be enforced starting from Monday, April 15.

However, the ITC clarified that school buses, public transport buses, and buses with access to work sites in the area will be exempted from this restriction.

Road closure

Additionally, the ITC has announced a partial road closure on Khalifa Bin Zayed The First Street in Abu Dhabi, slated to occur from Saturday, April 6, to Monday, April 8.

The road closure plan includes the following:

  • Closure of the left lane from Saturday, April 6, commencing at 12:00 am, until Sunday, April 7, concluding at 1:00 am.
  • Closure of two right lanes from Sunday, April 7, starting at 1:00 am, until Monday, April 8, ending at 6:00 am.

Motorists are advised to plan their routes accordingly and adhere to traffic guidelines during these specified periods of road closures.
