Prophet Muhammad’s Birthday holiday: free parking, toll announced in UAE

The transport regulator is offering free parking during the holiday from Friday until 7:59 a.m. on Saturday

The Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) of the Department of Municipalities and Transport in Abu Dhabi has announced the timings and operation of its customer happiness centres, surface parking, toll gates, and public buses during Prophet Muhammad’s Birthday holiday, which will be on Friday, September 29.

Surface parking will be free during the holiday from Friday until 7:59 a.m. on Saturday. Parking spaces at the Musaffah M-18 truck parking lot will also be free during the official holiday.

In this regard, the ITC called on drivers to avoid parking in prohibited areas and blocking traffic movement. The transport authority also urged drivers to park properly in the designated areas and avoid parking in residential spaces from 9 p.m. until 8 a.m.

The ITC declared that the Darb toll gate system will be free of charge on Friday. The toll gate charges will resume on Saturday during the regular peak hours (from 07:00 am to 09:00 am and from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.).

Furthermore, the ITC said the public bus services in Abu Dhabi will operate based on the usual schedule throughout weekends and official holidays. The ITC said the Customers’ Happiness Centres Abu will be closed during the holiday. Customers may continue to apply for ITC’s services on its digital platforms through its website www.itc.gov.ae, the TAMM platform, the Darb and Darbi smart apps.

Customers may also contact the unified Service Support Centre of the Department of Municipalities and Transport on its toll-free number 800850 and TransAD 600535353, which are available 24/7.

Parking in Dubai

Similarly, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) also announced changes in the time of all its services, covering customer happiness Ccentres, paid parking zones, public buses, Dubai Metro & Dubai Tram and Marine Transport.

Public parking in Dubai will be free during the holiday. However, the transport regulator said free parking does not apply to multi-level terminals. Parking fees will be activated on Saturday, September 30.

RTA said all its customer happiness centres will be closed during the holiday, whereas the Smart customer happiness centres at Umm Ramool, Deira, Al Barsha, Al Kafaf, and RTA headquarters, will be open 24/7.
