Abu Dhabi developer Bloom begins construction of Soho Square project at Saadiyat

Mixed -use project Soho Square will feature 302 luxury residental units

Abu Dhabi-based Bloom Properties has started the main construction works at its Soho Square development on Saadiyat island, it announced on Sunday.

The developer has appointed Emirates Link Maltauro to carry out the main works of the project.

Located in the university area of Saadiyat – close to the New York University Abu Dhabi campus – Soho Square includes residential, retail and commercial properties.

In terms of residential, Soho Square will feature 302 luxury units, ranging from studios to three-bedroom apartments, townhouses and a penthouse. It will also feature commercial and retail facilities and amenities including restaurants, a swimming pool and a fitness center.

No details were disclosed regarding the value of the project and its completion date.

“Bloom Properties is keen to strengthen its footprint in the Abu Dhabi real estate market.”

Launched in 2015, Soho Square is the second mixed-use development by Bloom Properties on Saadiyat. Its other project on the island is Park View, which comprises of a residential building with 2​07 units and a hotel tower with 217 hotel apartments that will be managed by Rotana.

The company is also developing the Bloom Gardens project on the Eastern Corniche in the UAE capital, which will comprise 372 residential units built in a Mediterranean style.

Earlier this month, Bloom announced that it had awarded the main construction contract for its waterfront development in Dubai, Stella Maris.

Located at the southern end of Dubai Marina, Stella Maris is a 52-storey luxury development including 313 high-end residences in total.

Last year, the developer also launched Bloom Heights, a mixed-use two-tower project in Dubai’s Jumeirah Village Circle, targeted at mid-market investors.

The project includes 686 residential units linked internally by four podium levels, with a mixture of studios and one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments.
