Home UAE Abu Dhabi Ramadan 2024: Abu Dhabi Police announces change in traffic rules Traffic patrols will be on high alert across all roads, with additional enforcement through smart traffic systems by Gulf Business March 11, 2024 Image courtesy: Getty Images Abu Dhabi Police have announced a temporary ban on heavy vehicles, trucks, and buses transporting 50 or more workers during peak morning and evening hours on roads in the emirate during Ramadan. Brigadier General Mahmoud Yousef Al Balushi, the director of the Traffic and Patrols Directorate in the Central Operations Sector explained that the restrictions apply during rush hours from 8:00 am-10:00 am and again from 2:00 pm- 4:00 pm. Al Balushi said that traffic patrols will be deployed on all roads, and traffic control measures will be intensified through the use of smart systems. The authority said parking fees will be applied to all zones from Monday to Saturday. First shift from 8:00 am – 6:00 pm, second shift from 8:00 pm – 00:00 midnight, while multi-storey car parking will be available 24/7.
