The package, valued at Dhs3.309bn, will benefit 2,015 citizens across the emirate. The housing benefits package includes housing loans worth more than Dhs3.046bn, aiding 1,766 citizens. Among these, 782 loans will be allocated for purchasing residential units in the Balghaiylam residential project. Additionally, senior citizens, retirees with low incomes and families of deceased citizens will be exempted from housing loan payments, amounting to more than Dhs262.8m. The distribution of this package highlights our leadership’s continued dedication to improving the welfare of our citizens and their families, nurturing familial and social cohesion, and advancing comprehensive development within the emirate.” Hamad Hareb Al Muhairi, director general of the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority, emphasised the leadership’s focus on citizens’ wellbeing: “The directives to distribute the second housing benefits package exemplify our leaders’ steadfast dedication to the wellbeing of Emirati citizens. “Abu Dhabi Housing Authority remains dedicated to continually improving its programmes and services to provide housing for all citizens in Abu Dhabi, while also advancing the housing sector in alignment with the leadership’s vision.” The disbursement of the second housing benefits package coincides with the upcoming Eid Al Adha, reflecting the leadership’s commitment to ensuring the wellbeing of Emirati families. With this package, the total value of housing benefits disbursed since the establishment of the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority has reached more than Dhs152bn. More recently, the UAE Cabinet, led by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, approved a new housing package valued at Dhs1.682bn ($458m) for Emirati citizens. We also approved a project to simplify and reduce procedures within the programme in collaboration with 24 government entities,” Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid said.
