Private sector employees in the UAE will get three days off (and five including the weekend) to celebrate Eid Al Adha this year, officials have announced.

Eid holidays for private sector workers will begin on Sunday, September 11 and run until Tuesday, September 13, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation announced on Twitter.

Earlier, it was announced that public sector workers in the country will get one week off (and nine days in total with the weekends) to celebrate Eid Al Adha.

Government offices will remain closed from September 11 until Sunday, September 18.

Media reports in Saudi Arabia had said Eid would fall on September 12.

Eid Al Adha falls the day after Arafat Day when Muslim pilgrims stand on Mount Arafat as part of their Hajj pilgrimage.
