UAE fuel prices to increase again in September

UAE fuel prices are to increase again in September after dipping this month, the country’s Ministry of Energy has announced.

Under the new prices, Special 95 will increase from Dhs1.62 to Dhs1.64, Super 98 from Dhs1.73 to Dhs1.75 and EPlus 91 from Dhs1.55 to Dhs1.57

However, diesel will decrease from Dhs1.76 to Dhs1.72.

The UAE reduced fuel subsidies last year, instead introducing a system that calculates prices based on global oil benchmarks.

The August petrol price decrease marked the end of four consecutive months of price rises.

This followed a dip in Brent crude prices from $50 to around $43 in July.

However, Brent crude prices have since recovered, hovering just below $50 at the time of writing.
