Home Industry Transport UAE’s Aramex to sell Sydney courier unit to Australia Post The logistics company acquired Sydney-based Mail Call Couriers in 2014 by Robert Anderson June 2, 2016 UAE logistics company Aramex has announced it is selling Mail Call Couriers, the Sydney-based courier service it acquired in June 2014, to Australia Post. In a bourse statement, Aramex said it would sell the company to Australia’ Post’s StarTrack Courier unit and form a joint venture with the company focussing on e-commerce in Asia. This joint venture will then acquire Australia Post’s StarTrack International global e-commerce postal business and build its capabilities. “We are delighted to announce this joint venture with Australia Post, and we look forward to combining our resources and expertise to build a compelling global e-commerce delivery platform,” said Aramex chief executive Hussein Hachem. Mail Call Couriers provides express courier delivery in Australia’s metropolitan markets, including a three hour and evening e-commerce delivery service. When Aramex acquired the firm in 2014 it said it would strengthen its Asia Pacific footprint and grow its e-commerce platform in the region.
