Saudi billionaire Prince Alwaleed has hit back against United States presidential candidate Donald Trump in a public spat on Twitter.

The issue began after Trump tweeted a photo-shopped picture of Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly alongside Alwaleed and his ‘sister’ claiming the Saudi prince was a co-owner of the news channel.

The tweet came after Trump, who has been in a tiff with Kelly and Fox News, withdrew from the Republican television debate hosted by the news station on Friday.Screen Shot 2016-05-11 at 3.58.52 PM

In response, Alwaleed hit back at the business mogul on Twitter saying: “You base your statements on photoshopped pics?I bailed you out twice;a 3rd time, maybe?”

He also posted links to three news stories pointing out that the picture posted was fake and highlighting the two previous occasions he bailed out Trump.

The first was in 1991 when Alwaleed bought a yacht once owned by Trump and the second was in 1995 deal when he purchased a stake in Trump’s Plaza Hotel.

One of the articles also rubbished the allegation that Alwaleed was the majority owner of Fox News.

This is not the first time that the two businessmen have had a row on Twitter.

In December, Alwaleed called Trump a “disgrace” to his country over the American’s comments calling for the ban of all Muslims into the US.

“You are a disgrace not only to the GOP [Republican Party] but to all America. Withdraw from the US presidential race as you will never win,” he wrote on Twitter.

Trump retaliated on Twitter: “Dopey Prince Alwaleed wants to control our US politicians with daddy’s money. Can’t do it when I get elected.”
