AL MUBARAK, A prolific businessman and trusted advisor to Abu Dhabi’s Crown Prince, HH Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, had an active 2014. The Emirati led Abu Dhabi’s multi-billion dollar sovereign wealth investment vehicle Mubadala through a variety of acquisitions and sell offs, including acquiring full ownership of IT firm Injazat, selling Abu Dhabi Aircraft Technologies to Etihad and establishing a 300 million euro investment fund with France’s CDC International Capital. The firm also reported a 23 per cent rise in first half profit, thanks largely to the merger of Emal with Dubal to form Emirates Global Aluminium Company. Outside of the business world, the team he chairs, Manchester City FC, saw off Liverpool to be crowned English Premier League champions in May.
