Countdown Begins For 2014 Gulf Business Industry Awards

The third edition of the annual Gulf Business Industry Awards (GBIA), the region’s benchmark for recognising local business achievement, will be held on Monday, September 15, 2014 at The Westin Mina Seyahi Beach Resort & Marina.

The high profile awards recognise the very best in companies and CEOs across nine industries including banking, real estate, aviation, retail, energy, media and marketing, tourism and hospitality, healthcare and technology.

As well as these industries, awards will also be given to the winners of three individual categories: Innovator of the Year, Entrepreneur of the Year and Businesswoman of the Year.

To close the night, one CEO and also a deserving company will win the coveted Gulf Business CEO of the Year and UAE Company of the Year awards. One very special guest will also win the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award, which was awarded to Khalaf Al Habtoor, founder and chairman of the Al Habtoor Group last year.

An independent judging panel consisting of Gulf Business editorial staff, industry leaders and specialist experts such as Firas Nasir, Co-head of MENA, Carlyle Group, Ben Bruton, Managing Partner UAE, Eversheds and Ian Fairservice, Managing Partner and Group Editor of Motivate, came together to decide the CEO winners.

Meanwhile, Gulf Business readers were given the opportunity to vote for the ‘companies of the year’ on the publication’s website.
