Home Industry Renault Middle East Sales Up 19% The French car company sold over 55,000 units in the region with the UAE recording the biggest increase. by Neil Churchill January 21, 2014 Renault Middle East has reported year-on-year sales growth of 19 per cent for 2013, selling 55,517 units. The UAE recorded strongest growth in the region for the French car manufacturer, with sales increasing 36 per cent on 2012. Dubai and the Northern Emirates reported the highest sales increase with a rise of 53 per cent on the year before, while Abu Dhabi saw a 32 per cent rise. “With 19 per cent growth in the GCC in 2013, we are reaping the benefits of our sustained strategy to expand the Renault brand in the Middle East Region,” said Peyman Kargar, managing director, Renault Middle East. In Saudi Arabia, Renault remained the top European brand while sales in Iraq jumped 17 per cent. Sales of the Renault Duster model increase by over 200 per cent in 2013 with the car entering the top five in the SUV-S segment in the UAE and Oman. In the wider GCC region, the Fluence saw an increase in sales of 15 per cent while the Megane III Hatch was up 45 per cent on 2012. “The remarkable growth since the beginning of this year is the result of a range of high-quality Renault models and competitive pricing,” added Kargar. “2013 saw the success of the Renault Duster, our worldwide best-seller! 2014 promises to be full of opportunities for growth with new products and market expansion.” 0 Comments
