Google, Hub71 partner to launch startup programme in 2025

Hub71, Abu Dhabi’s global tech ecosystem, has announced a strategic partnership with Google to accelerate the growth of startups within the UAE.

The collaboration will introduce Google for Startups, a startup programme, to Hub71’s innovative community, offering startups opportunities for growth, resources and global connectivity.

By joining forces with one of the world’s leading tech companies, Hub71 aims to enhance its role as a launchpad for regional and global startups, nurturing them from early-stage ventures to scalable businesses.

Google for Startups: A game-changer for Hub71’s community

As part of the partnership, Google for Startups will offer a dedicated accelerator programme set to launch in 2025.

The programme will select 25 high-potential startups from Hub71’s diverse ecosystem to undergo a transformative three-month initiative focused on scalable growth strategies and optimising business models.

In addition to the accelerator, all startups within Hub71’s community will gain access to substantial Google Cloud credits, with top-performing startups eligible for up to $300,000 in credits — one of the highest global tiers available.

This initiative represents a significant opportunity for Hub71’s startups to harness the power of Google’s advanced tools, expertise, and mentorship, which will be critical as they scale and navigate an increasingly competitive market.

Empowering startups with mentorship and global connectivity

The collaboration goes beyond funding and infrastructure. Google for Startups will provide tailored playbooks to guide early-stage ventures through their growth journey.

Hub71’s startups will also benefit from access to Google’s extensive mentor network, which connects them with industry leaders, experts, and influential players across various sectors.

This support will allow entrepreneurs to navigate challenges, seize opportunities, and refine their strategies.

Google will also introduce Hub71 startups to its investment divisions and parent company, Alphabet, opening doors for potential funding discussions centred around the latest in innovation and technological transformation.

By fostering these connections, Google and Hub71 aim to ensure that startups have not only the tools but also the network necessary to thrive in the global digital economy.

In addition to accelerator programmes and mentorship, Google and Hub71 will facilitate exchange meetings on key themes such as web3, sustainability, and artificial intelligence (AI).

These forums will promote knowledge exchange, encourage ideation, and address emerging market needs while fostering sustainable growth practices.

The collaboration aims to equip startups with the insight and skills required to drive forward-thinking, innovative solutions in areas with long-term societal impact.

Ahmed Jasim Al Zaabi, chairman of Hub71, emphasised the significance of the partnership: “Hub71’s collaboration with Google reinforces Abu Dhabi’s commitment to becoming a global technology leader. By leveraging the expertise of distinguished international tech giants, we are not only accelerating our economic transformation but also empowering  entrepreneurs and startups with the tools and global opportunities needed to thrive in a competitive digital economy.”

Anthony Nakache, MD for Google in MENA, commented on the collaboration’s long-term potential: “This partnership with Hub71 to bring the ‘Google for Startups’ accelerator programme to Abu Dhabi reflects Google’s commitment to empowering the UAE’s startups with the resources, growth strategies, and access to a global network of experts. Our programme will help these entrepreneurs contribute to the expanding digital business landscape in the UAE and the broader region.”

Ahmed Ali Alwan, CEO of Hub71, added: “Our partnership to bring the flagship ‘Google for Startups’ programme to Abu Dhabi marks an exciting chapter for Hub71, reflecting our commitment to ensuring Abu Dhabi remains at the forefront of technology and entrepreneurship.”
