The introduction of flynas at AUH is set to offer travellers a broader array of destination options and greater flexibility. The new service is expected to benefit both business and leisure travellers, potentially spurring increased tourism and trade between the UAE and Saudi Arabia. Nathalie Jongma, VP of Aviation Development at Abu Dhabi Airports, expressed enthusiasm about the new partnership: “We are thrilled to welcome flynas to Zayed International Airport. This collaboration significantly enhances our connectivity with Saudi Arabia, offering travellers more choices and reinforcing our position as a premier regional hub.” flynas launches flights to Sharjah In other news, the airline also launched flights to Sharjah on September 1. flynas will operate a daily flight from Jeddah and two flights a week from Madinah to the emirate. Ali Salim Al Midfa, chairman of Sharjah Airport Authority, expressed pride in this development, emphasising the airport’s ongoing expansion efforts aimed at increasing capacity to 25 million passengers by 2027. The airline recently announced its expansion plan to add eight new destinations and routes to its UAE network as part of its contribution to Saudi Arabia’s National Civil Aviation Strategy, an initiative that seeks to connect the kingdom with 250 international destinations by 2030. The low-cost carrier connects over 70 domestic and international destinations through a network of more than 1,500 weekly flights. Since its launch in 2007, it has transported more than 78 million passengers. The carrier has plans to expand its reach to 165 destinations both domestically and internationally.
