Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has completed a series of traffic enhancements at four key locations within the Al Safa 1 Schools Complex.

These upgrades are aimed at improving traffic flow and elevating safety standards across the area.

The upgrades include the widening of entry and exit points, the addition of measures such as traffic lights and pedestrian crossings and creation of new parking spaces.

Hamad Al Shehhi, director of Roads at the Traffic and Roads Agency, RTA, stated, “The latest improvements in Al Safa 1 have been implemented to benefit road users, including service providers from the business community, students, and approximately 60,000 residents of the neighbourhood.”

Al Safa 1 traffic enhancements include:

A 255-metre lane was added to the service road for vehicles travelling from the junction of Sheikh Zayed Road with Al Hadiqa Road towards the roundabout leading to Street 13. It is expected to reduce travel time to the Al Safa 1 Schools Complex by 20 per cent.

Tenty-two parallel parking slots were created near Al Safa School and Al Ittihad School to ease congestion during peak hours and streamline traffic flow during student pick-up and drop-off times.

The exit leading to Al Wasl Street from Street 19 was widened with a 330-metre-long lane.

This adjustment, along with modifications to the traffic signal and the addition of 18 parking slots opposite Jumeirah College, aims to redistribute traffic volumes more effectively.

An additional U-turn exit was created on Al Wasl Street, complete with a new traffic signal and pedestrian crossing to enhance safety for both motorists and pedestrians.
